Thought I'd drag this thread back near the top as it is nearly Christmas which means that 'tis the time for celebs to come and switch on everyone's Christmas lights. We will probably get the cast of Casualty or Adam Hart-Davies here. I might go to Cardiff - it's not far and if I'm really lucky maybe someone from Doctor Who or Torchwood will be doing theirs (please be Captain Jack!).

The only celebrity I have ever met is Jamelia, in a Burger King, in 2002. I accidentally trod on her trainer and she looked at me really dirtily. It was awesome.

David Tennant and Billie did the Christmas lights in Cardiff last week. He and Sophia Myles were out and about a fortnight or so ago. She looks lovely with no make up on, and after a small child asked for his autograph (as he was leaving after his lunch) he made sure his parker hood was firmly up. And John Barrowman is doing panto in Cardiff this Christmas. Jack And The Beanstalk no less!

You were lucky that she didn't have one of her brothers shoot you though. In my second celebrity-at-a-train-station incident in the space of a month (after Charlie Offcorrie in Crewe), last night I stood on the opposite platform to Carl Barat from The Libertines / Dirty Pretty Things at Wolverhampton station. He saw me staring and I got a grumpy look. He was wearing a fucking hideous three quarter length trench coat. Oh how I wish it was Pete Doherty. He could have fallen on the track and I could have taken a picture with my camera phone saved him and got in the papers.

I didn't see Pete from Big Brother last night, twice. He was in Borders doing a signing and I didn't bother myself to go over and peer at him althoug it did cross my mind.
I said twice as I went in to the shop before and a staff meeting at my new work across the road.

I saw Connie Fisher on Saturday. She was walking along a London streets, with some photographers snapping her. She wore a very nice red coat. She then went into Liberty, where the man she was with tapped her on the bum as she went through the door.
I don't know whether she giggled, screwed up her face and said "oh, you" coquettishly.

Shane Ritchie was on the same plane as I to New York. I only saw him as we waited to go through immigration. He means nothing to me though so I felt no fizz alas.
My best sleb spot was when I served Chantelle and Preston in the bookshop where I work, and half an hour later Peter Andre and Katie Price came in. Gasp.

I am just amazed that any of the above celebs were in a bookshop. Can you remember what they bought? I suspect Peter and Katie probably bought their own autobiographies. I can imagine Chantelle buying an Angelina Ballerina book.

I'd imagine Preston bought her something slightly more highbrow and political - Engels for Beginners perhaps. Right before he bought her the brown hair dye and reading glasses.

Last night! Martine McCuthcheon! In a gay bar in Clapham! Things we learned:
* Martine is very pretty, but rough. She was wearing trackie bottoms! In a gay bar!
* Martine did her hair with a hairbrush, her mascara and looked at herself with a compact mirror!
* A drag queen brought Martine up on stage to sing a song. Martine didn't know the lyrics.
* Martine did cop a feel of Hugh Grant. He has a nice cock.
* At one point, Martine was crouched down behind a fag machine for about 15 minutes. Fuck knows what she was doing down there. Sobbing into her Gin + Coke maybe?
* Martine was with a gaggle of gays, the leader of which was a quite good-looking campy muscle-hunk who seemed either French or Italian. I named him Fabrizio.
* Hurrah for Martine, the cocknee sparra! (who's really from Dalston).

I only still know because I blogged it, please don't think I was so awestruck that I committed their purchases to memory! KP bought "The art of hiding vegetables". Preston bought "Short history of tractors in Ukrainian", the new Phillip Roth and "Double Fault."

What is 'the art of hiding vegetables'? It sounds like some sort of mental diet book. Does Jordan really stay thin through avoiding veg?!
My dad bought a Philip Roth book once. He loaned it to my sister who left it somewhere and then my mum found it and accidentally gave it to the charity shop. My dad was proper pissed off. I hope Preston had better luck with his copy.

KP bought "The art of hiding vegetables". My mind is in very bad places thinking about where Jordan might hide a carrot, cucumber or courgette. A

No, it's actually book of recipes for children who don't like eating their veggies. She bought it looking for inspiration for meals for Harvey.
Chantelle looked at the latest Louise Bagshawe book, but declined it when offered.

One wouldn't think it would be too difficult to hide vegetables from a blind child, but perhaps the book also gives advice on disguising the flavour/texture.

Ooh excellent book-based gossip! * Martine did cop a feel of Hugh Grant. He has a nice cock. That's an impressive bit of information-gathering. How on earth did the subject arise? Were you eavesdropping or did you ask her outright? I saw Syed from the Apprentice when I was last in London. He was reading a newspaper. I just stared at him in a stalker-ish fashion for 5 minutes and giggled uncontrollably.

I've met quite a few celebs! James McAvoy is one, though not sure that really counts as it was at school, we were in the same maths class! Shabaz from Big Brother doing his Dana International impression on stage in a Glasgow pub, which he's now banned for life from for throwing a chair at someone!
I've sat in a well known Glasgow gay club with The Pet Shop Boys years ago, my friend had a 2 day fling with Chris Lowe, and I was left talking to Neil Tennant, who is a really nice guy.
I've sat on the train next to Alan Carr after seeing him at the Edinburgh Festival a few years ago, before the Friday Night Project. Again he was a nice guy.
I've also seen the very orange Dale Winton in the Polo Lounge in Glasgow - chain smoking and drinking gin and tonic. I was too scared to go talk to him though, my friend dared me to go up and say the Supermarket Sweep catchphrase but I wasn't drunk enough! I've also danced with Su Pollard in the Polo Lounge - I swear she was dancing as if she was off her face, but I think she's just like that!
I've met Vanessa Feltz in a taxi queue in London, she seemed nice enough and looked a lot thinner than she does on telly.
Oh, and tons of the River City cast in and around Glasgow, but I wouldn't say they were really celebs as most of you won't know who they are!

I recently served Jackie Bird at work.
Also fell over the pram of her-that-was-in-Deacon-Blue-but-is-now-in-River-City.
I used to live round the corner from PC Plum of Balamory. I have a picture of myself and a friend with him on my phone.
I was also on TV a few years ago and met Kavana, Craig Brown, Gail Porter, Tim Vincent and Chris Jarvis. Kavana kept giving me lots of signed things. Gail Porter told my infant brother that "girls are great", a message which I clearly did not take heed of.

I sort of know the guy who played PC Plum in Balamory, I used to see him out a lot in Glasgow, think I may have spoken to him a few times but it was before Balamory so my memory's a bit hazy.
Colin and Justin are another two I've seen out and about, but then so have half the gay scene in Glasgow. I've spoken to Colin a few times and he seems the nicer of the two. He needs to sort his hair out though, it's a total mess!
I've met some other "celebs" too, but this was at PAs etc so I don't think that really counts. Gina G is a darling though!
