I know it was discussed briefly in the American Telly thread, but let's have a separate thread for 30 Rock. Because it's great.
I've rewatched the scene from last week's episode where Jenna talks about her new movie about ten times, and every time I crack up.
"What about your new movie?" "The Rural Juror?" "Yeah...the rurrr...jurr."
As they said in the Radio Times, you have to hear it in an American accent to fully appreciate it.

Oh I absolutely love 30 Rock! I love the crap beeper salesman boyfriend and Baldwin's philosophising and general ridiculousness. The stuff with the wig this week was great. I'm not too sure about Tracey... sometimes his mentalness is funny, but mostly it's just a bit annoying.

I'm really enjoying this. I never really got into Californication, though.
I keep trying to tape Studio 60 as well, but my DVR keeps refusing it.

30 Rock is everything that Studio 60 probably should have been. It's almost Seinfeldian in it's humour at times which is no bad thing. Baldwin (sorry I can never remember which one he is) is undergoing a similar career resurrection to that of Kevin Dillon in Entourage. Who'd have thought that the pair of them would end up being 2 of the biggest comedy geniuses in American telly?
I really do like The David Duchovney Show (which is what it should really be called, I mean, check those opening credits). Now it's calmed down and it isn't just about him fucking 3 hot women every episode, it's much better. His boss, that baldy guy who was Charlotte's husband in SATC, is possibly the funniest character though.

The stuff with the wig this week was great. I'm not too sure about Tracey... sometimes his mentalness is funny, but mostly it's just a bit annoying. I wasn't too sure about him either - until the genius episode where he pretended to be illiterate to get out of working. Now I love him - but not as much as I love Alec Baldwin.

The stuff with the wig this week was great. "Past Pete is here to kill future Pete!" Hee. Dennis's reading out loud of his letter to Liz was one of my TV highlights of the year. He is awesome. And then he shows up on To Catch a Predator, awesome. "She said she was 16, but I knew she was 22!"

My favourite part of this show at the moment is the references to Tracy's movies. Last week he mentioned Honky Grandma Be Trippin', and in his dressing room this week there was a poster for Who Dat Ninja? Both cinematic masterpieces, I'm sure.

The last 30 seconds of last night's episode made me laugh more than anything I can remember in recent times. I've rewatched it about 20 times and I still crack up every single time.
"Let's get personal. Your father Werner was a burger server in suburban Santa Barbera, when he spurned your mother Verna for a curly-haired surfer named Roberta. Did that hurt her?"

Every week I think this can't possibly get better, then it does. I LOLed so hard during the Tracy Jordan Meat Machine bit I kept missing the jokes. Baldwin is so amazing. They all are! I want a DVD, STAT!
I have two ears and a heart, don't I?

I've just started watching this after my friend kept going on about a "rurrr jurrr"; I've only seen the first two episodes and I absolutely love it. This deserves far more lowculture attention!
"Oh my, what an adorable little lesbian." !

Oh, it's wonderful. But I have only managed to see about 2/3 of the series because my PVR hates it and refuses to record it half the time.
I think the Obama/Osama episode is my favourite.

I think the Obama/Osama episode is my favourite. "For someone who is super, super hot, you're really cranky." "Maybe we should have our policies dictated by former Cable Ace Award nominees." "First of all, I was GREAT in that Arli$$!" "Oh, no comeback? YA BURNT!" I will never get tired of that scene.

A friend of mine has the Region 1 DVD set of 30 Rock - we once got through the whole thing in the course of one evening and the following morning. Sadly Region 1 doesn't work on mine. Less sadly, it's apparently out in the UK on March 17! Better yet, the second season (which is every bit as good as the first so far, FYI) is heading straight back into production now that the strike is over, and should be back on in March.

Hurrah it had Ukrainian in it. And: "I'm going to be your bottom, Kenneth, and I want you to ride me as hard as you can."
Also, I'd shag the Hair if he was my third cousin.

It's a shame that 30 Rock got lumped onto Channel 5, it's never going to big as it really needs to be. I'm up to date with the american showings thanks to the interwebs and I have to say it's constantly fantastic.
Who else has a crush on Tina Fey?

Me! Me! Me! I love how Liz Lemon is supposed to be frumpy and unsexy when clearly Tina Fey is a hotass.
Which reminds me of another favourite line:
JENNA: How Sex and the City are we? I'm Samantha, (to Phoebe) you're Charlotte, and (to Liz) you're the lady at home watching it.

I liked the Bianca/Wanker, Bionka/Willy Wonker bit tonight. How shallow.
We so better get series 2.

Like I said, a bugger to find this thread. By all means delete the other one, Rad, sorry!
---
I may have (only) just watched the first season in two days, it got quite good quite soon, and I was surprised not to find a thread on it here (although it's a bugger to search for). This was shown in the U of K, wasn't it?
Favourite bits include everything about Jenna's dance-pop-techno-hybrid 'Muffin Top' (I'm an independent lady / So do not try to play me / I run a tidy bakery / The boys all want my cake for free) and everything regarding The Rural Juror:
Tina Fey's not really all that funny though, is she?

This is heresy!
One of Tina Fey's greatest qualities as a comic writer and actress is that she doesn't give herself all the best lines and normally choses to play it straight. 30 Rock has some fantastic moments from her though, though none have even come close to her fantastic delivery of the line:
"Oh hi, Cady, have you come to buy some drugs?" from Mean Girls.

Uhm, actually, maybe I need to specify this: "The character Tina Fey plays in this show's not really all that funny, is it?" I don't really know her as a writer and I haven't seen her in anything else. (When I say I don't really know her as a writer I'm assuming she doesn't actually write 30 Rock. I remember seeing "Written by Two Other Names" flash by yesterday and thinking: wasn't she supposed to have written this?)
I am not making the senses today, sorry. I will investigage Miss Fey further and report back.
