Did Carole really descibe Jackiey as being essentially subnormal or did the subtitle people mishear her say educationally subnormal?

Shilpa may be among the favourites with the bookies (and my household), but it still didn't stop the idiots in the BB studio audience booing her, and Jack saying he hated her for no good reason. I despair.
It's probably between her and Cleo for my winner at the moment, although I still have a soft spot for Ian. And Claire 'Steps and H&Claire' Richards was on CBBLB yesterday! Lovely to see her again, even if she was unfairly overshadowed by the ridiculous Tara Palmer-Tomkinson.

I want Shilpa and Dirk to marry. I would even buy 'Hello' or 'OK' (which I never do) to look at their home and admire their beautiful babies.

I was really surprised by this and thought it really indelicate of Carole. But if it was a mis-hearing then educationally sub-normal is a bit better. I still don't think there was any need for her to say it though. Especially with that, "She's what we call in the UK" prefix. Talk about patronising!

The main reason I asked was if Carole had got her terminology right - I don't think she was being patronising by calling her that, to her credit. I think it's patronising to say Jackiey is how she is because of her working class life experiences, or even her drug use (I had an extensive debate about this in work). Educationally Sub Normal (or ESN) is a fairly PC term for someone we would have once have described as slow, remedial, special needs or learning disabilities (or just a very un-pc plain old mong), which could certainly be used to describe Jackiey.

I wouldn't say it's particularly PC. 'Normal' is a really contentious word. Special Educational Needs (SEN) is the least patronising term, and the most widely used 'buzz' word. Go into any school, ask any learning support department. I've never heard Educationally Sub Normal being used, and I don't think I'd really like to again.

Well, she wasn't as slim as she was when she was in Steps, but she looked a perfectly healthy weight, and of course she's pregnant. As for nominations, well they only happened yesterday, so they would be shown on the Friday night show.

God, Davina's giving Carole a proper grilling. I love it. Cos she knows she can take it, I think.

Same with Leo who Davina seemed quite angry with. Yet Jackie was apparently an "awesome housemate" I can't believe an eviction interview with Carole is turning into another example of saying how brilliant Jade is.

I fucking loved Dirk pouring his drink away to spite Jade, disgusting bully that she is. He was sailing close to the wind but managed to make himself look far more sensible and reasonable in the face of really shitty behaviour. Why the hell should he dole out how much Jade decides of his own whiskey when she and her cronies have already stashed a load of alcohol and drank the rest of their own?
I want him to win and then continue his philosophy of 'letting go' by walking out the back door just before he's meant to have his interview.
Jade on the other hand is just bloody awful, drawing up a harem of henchwomen then trying to use them to bully anyone she considers a threat.

I've done what Dirk did before. But with shelled hemp seeds to spite my mother. We try and eat healthily rather than binge on whisky! I was watching that live last night, and Dirk did lose his temper slightly but Jesus Christ, Jade was being a proper bitch to him, she called him an alcoholic and said a few vicious things about him.
I want everyone to leave, one by one...this year is very anti climactic.
Did you see the argument she was having with Shilpa tonight? What was that all about?

During the argument Danielle kept telling Shilpa that Jade was one of her best mates in the outside world, whereas when Jade arrived I'm sure she said she'd met Danielle twice in a club.
I felt sorry for Shipla, the argument seemed to be going back to the same point which she'd explained several times (she'd taken Danielle aside to ask if she'd upset Jade, Danielle interpreted this as Shilpa being jealous/put out that they had a close friendship, I think).

I got in trouble with my colleague for accidentally mishearing her and writing on our live updates - without starring - "It's Shilpa. It's not a sentence, it's a fucking name." Oopsie.
Also, I think Ian's coming across really well. Totally likeable...the latest task is BRILLIANT. BB was sound dipping all today - can't wait to see the hash they make of the Jackson Five and Steps songs. Shilpa was just asking for BB to show them all a Steps video. Ian was cringing.

It would've been much more entertaining for Jo to be given the task of reuniting S-Club. I wanted to see the look on her face when they all get given outfits and dance routines for her to teach them.

She still seems to be wearing the same outfits from her S-Club days. Combat trousers, bodywarmers, trainers... Given her lack of glamming up in the house they're probably exactly the same clothes as from her S-Club days. The amount of stuff Jade is saying about Shilpa being left out whilst they leave in what Danielle (who looks like she's being set up to be Adele'd) is saying is really getting annoying now.

Bought everything she brought into the house for less than a £100. And is proud of it. Good, solid, funny, earthy girl. Liked her even more when I discovered she, like me, has a dog called Archie. Kindred souls.

I was pleasantly surprised how much Jermaine looked like Michael Jackson when he had the afro and glasses on.

Message to Jo: Spend more time with Cleo, Ian & Shilpa. I agree, I really liked that little bit of the show. I thought her "going to bed with Penelope Cruz and waking up with Cameron Diaz" comment was very funny. I'd love more of that, as despite her seeming like she's been possessed by the spirit of Pauline Fowler for most of this series, I do still want to like Jo. Ian has come across very well in recent episodes. Opinions on people in this show seem to change all the time, though I can't see myself liking Danielle, Jade Goody or her pet Jack any time soon.
