If I remember, I buy Private Eye, but only really for the TV, Street Of Shame and Letters bits. The legal stuff is a bit clever to be reading on the train. Hooray! I always thought I was the only person who stopped reading the Eye after Craig Brown's parody (and also missing out the boring agricultural/medical stuff). Suddenly I feel less guilty!

Surely the majority of buyers just buy it for the trashy bits, I shouldn't think they've got a huge audience interested in EU farming subsidies!

I read Private Eye when I'm at home- by which I mean I look at the cartoons. I've been doing it since I was 8 and I always thought one day I'd be clever/mature enough to read the serious bits, but no, I've never progressed beyond the TV comment and Polly Filler.

Hello,
I'm not a new member but haven't written here for a long while (on account of my laxziness and I had to TV at my uni halls). However, I'm now finished for the summer so will be spending a lot of time at home so I can watch muchos TV.
Anyway, I am back. Not that I need a welcome party, but, you know... I'm here.
Also - to save arguments, I'm going to try and avoid BB this year.
Also - I read Private Eye now, but only so to look intelligent around by boy. I've also started 'reading-for-fun'. I need some trash TV!

hey hey i'm new too...the name's carla and if you spell it with a K i'll kill you.
i watch anything. and i mean anything. Up until a few years ago i had no idea that hollyoaks was considered as the breeding ground for bad acting. i genuinely thought it was well-written, well-rounded, and had quality actors. now i'm not sure whether the actors in the show are in on the joke or not...
I don't know what private eye is. never heard of it. And i take great offence at being called a slabface.

I see it more as a burden that must must be bourne, or a trial by ordeal.

I just slept my way through an evening's TV. CAN YOU IMAGINE ANYTHING MORE AWFUL? I believe it's only because my housemate put on the heating and my duvet just was extra inviting. I still plan to watch the Classical Brits on now and the repeat of Roman's Empire.

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are only funny when they're highly scripted.
I don't think it warrants a thread of its own, but it is true.

I think "lolling" is probably ok when the infinitive is spelt with one "L" at the beginning and two at the other end. You can tell there's a lot of work-avoidance going on here today.

I've just realised that I've moved up from the ranks of Slabface, and still have yet to introduce myself. How rude of me. I'm Al. 25. London. (I don't always talk like a recipe on The F Word, by the way...) Regular musings can be found at thesloppydog.blogspot.com - telly-specific mumblings are located under "The Honking Box". So, to summarise, hello.

Hello all, I am new. Sorry for the boring "I am new" message but I felt obliged.
I found this board while googling the "Europop" song from SM:TV. That should tell you all you need to know!

Hello ! After lurking on Lowculture for many years have finally registered. In a previous life I was Cultureslut on Popjustice but that was many, many moons ago when the ABW's still existed *sniff*.......
Am a secret pop fiend whilst spending my day to day life looking like an elderly goth. TV wise I'm currently addicted to Greys Anatomy, L Word and Any Dream Will Do but that can change at any given moment depending on how many episodes I've missed.
So.....er.......that's about it. Hello !

I've just noticed this thread, how rude of me not to have introduced myself yet. I'm Becca, I'm 21 and I'm coming to the end of my time at Manchester Uni. I have no idea what I'm going to do with my life. I come from Birmingham and I get very angry when people say nasty things about it. I watch faaar too much television. Soapswise, I watch Hollyoaks, Neighbours and Coronation St, although Hollyoaks is the only one I'm religious about. My favourite tv programme ever is The OC,although Marissa Cooper is my most hated tv character ever. Current obsessions include The Apprentice and Any Dream Will Do, they have been the only bright spots in the deep dark pit of revision that has been my life for the last few weeks or so. I favour Kristina Grimes and Lee Meade respectively. It's this board's obsession with these shows, and your excellent taste in men, that galvanised me into finally registering after lurking for ages. Other tv obsessions of mine include Jordan & Peter, Shameless, This Life, Green Wing, Cold Feet and Holiday Showdown. Beyond tv, I love Girls Aloud, James Macavoy, Alex Zane, mushrooms, vodka, dancing drunkenly to cheesy indie music and Mcfly. I think this messageboard's hilarious and I only wish Id started posting earlier so I could've taken part in some sweepstakes. So...HI!!
