This is a drunk suggestion, but:
Popjustice has meet-ups. Life Itself has meet-ups. But lowculture has not had a meet-up! I propose a gathering of LCers in "London town" at some point. It would be grand, and of course involve going to a homosexual establishment.
Yes? No?

Ooh. As a veteran of both PJ and LI meets, I say yes. Maybe we could gather to watch a Big Brother eviction in a bar somewhere.

I'm often in London, so it's a 'maybe' from me.

I once suggested to a few of the Glasgow people, that we meet for a Christmas drink just to say hello. I am still wearing a cardigan from the chill of the silence! Next time I'm in London I'll say, even though I'm probably the daddy of the family.

You could have course all come dancing to some 'wicked tunes' at Miss-Shapes one night. I promise to play GA album tracks.

Next time I'm in London I'll say, even though I'm probably the daddy of the family. Like Richard is the daddy of the BB House? This is a great idea, particularly making BB watching a social event rather than thinking up pathetic excuses not to go out on a friday so you don't miss the eviction...

"I'd definitely go," she said. Her declaration drowned out by Lowculturians everywhere, hastily thinking up of excuses suddenly not to want to go.
A ticket to the Swinging London Town bash, please!

Bloody fecking London. Always bloody London. Sorry, I sound bitter. I really like London, but it's really far away in terms of "UK places where anything happens."
Mind you, even if I was in London... I am still 16 years old and therefore not allowed in drinking establishments. I hope you people are still hanging around here in a couple of years. You owe me a lot of drinks.*
*Well, not really... but i've missed a hell of a lot of meetups (and rounds of drinks bought) due to age and location.

I would be up for a Scotch gathering of the LC Clans. There seems to be a disproporionate number of Glasgow/Edinburgers on here. We could have it on the same day as the London one, in a parallel universe kind of way. We could maybe theme it around something, in addition to gayosexualing of course.

Ooh. Ooh. Have it during the festival when I make my trip there. I don't know when this is or will be. But it will be August. I had proper good fun at the ScotsJustice night in Glasgow all those years ago.

I had proper good fun at the ScotsJustice night in Glasgow all those years ago. I can guarantee the whole thing'll be in bars though. Which means i'll probably have to be counted out. Quick fairly unrelated question for Adrian: did you lot ever have that Summer Life Itself meet-up where you were all going to have a picnic and play rounders?

Not that I'd condone such funny business, but I don't think it would be a huge problem getting an under 18 into a gaybar. It must suck being underage these days with all this prove 21 rubbish. I never got Id'd when I started going out. I'd deffo come to a London or Brum meet-up.

We could have regional ones! lowculture meet-ups in London, Brum, Scotland and the Orkney island by the sounds of one of the other threads. There's quite a few Midlanders on here, I think.

That's so true, every time i ever glance to see where someone is from on here it always in from somewhere in the bonnie land of the scots. Perhaps there's a certain scottish humour that appeals to me and that's why i just notice them/you. Ho hum, no-one for a Brighton meet then? Anyone from West Sussex?

I'm West Sussex and Midlands. I'm in Chichester during holidays (ie, now) but go to university in Leicester, so either locale is good for me.

I like the idea of a London meet-up, but if it's going to go on late I'd have to get the train back home. It's an hour and a half ride back to Southampton, and I don't know if they even run trains after a certain time. So it probably wouldn't work for me. Not unless I could hassle one of my posh London friends to let me stay at theirs for the night.
(This isn't a subtle request for someone to let me stay at their place, by the way; I'd be too scared because I've had Stranger Danger drilled into me from a young age...)

I'm a Southamptonite too - the last train is normally at 1.05am, which can be a bit of a nuisance. The next one's at 5.30 - I've been known to catch that.

Why don't you all book flights and come to Guernsey! It'd be great fun, there's a pub, and a cinema and everyfink!
