Do it. I'll come. Before Christmas.

I'll come. And I'd like to propose Bolton as a venue - buy a drink and they'll chuck in a domestic for free.

I'm up for it too.
I suggest Nottingham. We can try not to get shot and then all go to the Costa where Amos from The Biggest Loser (who has changed his nametag to plain old "James" in the past month) works.

No, it's not gonna be in Nottingham.

No, it's not gonna be in Nottingham. I like Nottingham but only because it's £3 on the train and the Holiday Inn look the other way when you fit six people in a double room.

In retrospect, that sounds rather bad, doesn't it? I meant it more for when I go to gigs and we miss the last train as oposed to internet orgies but I'm sure the Nottingham Holiday Inn has many uses.

I've just moved to Nottingham! The holiday inn is right by my flat. Nottingham all the way!

So the chat room tonight posited the must-do idea of an SCD/X Factor drinknig game night. We can watch one live, tape the other, watch that. ALthough drinking alcohol through both would probably cause liver failure, so maybe soft drinks will need purchasing too.
Any takers...?
EDIT: There has been the suggestion of separate northern and souther n (and Glasgow?) ones and web conferencing if that entices people...

Everyone loves webconferencing.

webconferencing between two (or three) drunken shindigs that is, not a bunch of us individually webconferencing. that would just be the chatroom.

It will rule. But only for the select few who pass the test and are judged worthy to be invited.
Like in that episode of Ewoks, where they have to steal stuff for some reason. Or Visionaries.

Where and when?
I've never watched SCD, but I've followed x-factor this year.
Presumably we won't be drinking whenever anyone says "i'm singing this for my dad/my dad died/my dad is looking down on me" because if we did, we'd need three bottles of lambrini each and there wouldn't be any left to drink when the other girl goes "my heart actually stopped beating, I never thought I'd sing again".

We were debating early December, possibly London and Sheffield (and Glasgow?)

Depends on numbers, but maybe.

And we will be drinking at every cliche. Last one standing wins.

I'm there but only if it's fancy dress - unless I manage to get a Sinitta fan dress through the sewing machine by Halloween, in which case I'll have no need for a stipulation.
Invites should be done by carrier pidgeon.

I'm there but only if it's fancy dress - unless I manage to get a Sinitta fan dress through the sewing machine by Halloween, I think it was just a series of scarves with the fans stuck in. No need for sewing! I'm sure I once did something very similar when having to answer the door to the postman very early in the morning.

Right, let's get the ball rolling again.
Since nothing happened last time, I propose a date:
Friday 29th February in London. Me and Cherubic assume it will be a homosexual establishment; I'm open to suggestions.
Would Friday be a good day or would Saturday be better? I think Friday's are less busy than Saturdays so it might be better. Does anyone think the date is too soon or too distant?

The date is just perfect. I think Friday is best, as Friday evening drinking is always fun.

This is the night before my birthday, so I won't be travelling up to our good ol' capital.
However, I will expect drunken messages of happy birthday from you all after midnight.
