Just watching America's Got Talent and she's just stormed off the stage because Piers accused an obviously pushy mum of being a pushy mum.
Piers was being a bit of a knob but he was basically right.

Is anyone else enjoying the thought that Dannii is gleefully cackling to herself somewhere reading all of this press?
Well done Dannii - one down, one more to get rid of!

I saw that as well - silly mare. Is she just contracted to storm off, pour water over people and pull the 'concerned mother' routine once in a while. I'd gladly erase her from my telly viewing permanently (and Louis), however if we're doing replacements - Boy George anyone (I know he can be a bit of a knob, but it would be funny)

A big gay judge could be good actually, if only to see them pwn Louis with references to his sexuality week after week. Jake Shears or Babydaddy for the job, perhaps?
Still, I'd be more than happy with Mel B. I can't help but think The Bunto would be a more likely choice within the Spicesphere, but Mel B would tear shreds off Louis.
(Treating Louis like shit is my only specification for the new judge, if you hadn't noticed.)

Oh, how I would love the tables to turn. Louis and Sharon totally bullied Dannii last year. I would love for Simon, Dannii and The New Judge to bully Louis constantly. Without Sharon there next to him to nod and clap at everything he says, he'll be so lost.

If we need a pop female with a grudge against Louis Walsh then... anyone know what Samantha Mumba's doing?

Ooh that was a good read, and that picture is fab. I'd forgotten that Cheryl doesn't like Louis. This makes her more of my favourite for the role.
That said, the comments suggestions of Robert Mugabe, Grotbags the witch and Linda Perry are all great too. I don't think Linda would do it though.

Or... they could just go back to three judges and get rid of the bullshit rule where the children are twice as likely to get through as anyone else.
EDIT: Oh Carrie, I hadn't thought Myleene, but you're right. It so could be. After all Barrowman has been a talent show panellist, she needs to even the score.

I've done a not entirely serious blog piece for the Graun on this topic... In the first comment, has your name become used as Cockney rhyming slang? ...or mockney, or Guardian rhyming slang?

Simon blatantly wants himself a piece of the Tweedy. He tried to get her doing Amanda Holden's role on Britain's Got Talent, and gave her, like, a squillion pounds during Comic Relief Does The Apprentice.
While I can't blame him for this, it does mean he'll shift his focus from Dannii to Cheryl, and Dannii will end up moving across to fill Sharon's bitchy old crone position. She'll team up with Louis to bully Cheryl, then Dannii will quit next year, meaning an even younger and prettier fourth judge will come along to make Cheryl feel inadequate.
Hell, it's one way of keeping the format fresh.

Tweedy-Cole is above this. And as much as I love the Aloud, I don't think she'll be any good (unless she repeatedly harms Louis).

pwning Louis might be difficult since all he has to do is point out that no matter how famous she is now he was the one responsible for her being famous in the first place.

I thought someone said she has dissed him a number of times since. Wait, just remembering, didnt Danni and Girls Aloud have a fued at one point aswell?

Cheryl's appointment will make for good television and that's what it's all about: making good TV. It's never really been about singing or record contracts- they're just a bonus. And Cheryl may have been there and feel for the contestants, but she's frank enough to make headlines. It's a great boost for what is essentially an ageing brand in decline.

Losing Sharon = win Not gaining Lulu = win Gaining Cheryl = win
I am actually looking forward to X Factor now and not just because I have a Nancy shaped hole in my Saturday nights at the moment.

I am optimistic about the addition of Cheryl to X Factor. I hope Louis isn't all "I made you what you are!" though.
The fact that we have a reality tv star becoming a judge on a reality show could be a sign that the format is about to implode, which might be interesting too.

And Cheryl may have been there and feel for the contestants, but she's frank enough to make headlines. It's a great boost for what is essentially an ageing brand in decline. I think we all know that. It might be a great boost for the show but I couldn't give a shit about the show really, I like Cheryl and I don't think it'll be good for her. I dunno I don't think Cheryl is as aware and worldly as she might like to think she is. I mean with Dannii and Louis you know they're aware of the whole contrived side-show of it all with Dannii acting slightly aloof to it all and Louis playing it up to the hilt, they've been around the block and know the score, I have my doubts that Cheryl does and she will unwittingly be like a kitten playing with a ball of wool Simon's dangling (much like Sharon). Also I think Cheryl has always trod that that fine line between being brilliant and being a mouthy irritant. Her ways have a likable charm in a natural environment, in an unnatural one like the X-Factor I'm not so sure.
