Hayley doing the Countdown theme tune. I can imagine the Croppers watching it in bed.

Hayley doing the Countdown theme tune. I can imagine the Croppers watching it in bed. Don't be so ridiculous! It's on the afternoon - they'd both be at work. And as if Roy would allow a TV in the bedroom.

Actually, I have in the past woken as a hangover kicked in at something like 3am, still in my clothes with my TV on and Richard Whiteley hitting that button, so unless I was just having strange fantasies, I think C4 do put Countdown on late at night - but Roy and Hayles probably aren't awake then. And were you being double-entendrish with your "And as if Roy would allow a " TV" in the bedroom" because if not, that's an excellent unintended joke.

Lots of references to Antony Cotton's Soapstar Superstar win last night. At least they remembered to include "Don't give up the day job."

'Abrakebabra' (as mentioned by Steve on Sunday) was a Paul & Pauline Calf reference if I remember correctly...

last night- "flying picket" references made me laugh.
i thought it was unintentional until they started singing their version of 'only you'.
brian hibbard having been a mechanic in corrie with kev and all that...

Oops. Just posted the same thing in the main Corrie thread. Still, glad it wasn't just me.
Nice avatar, by the way!

Trinny and Susannah were mentioned too, but the Neighbours line was gold.

Can someone remind me what Blanche's comment to Emily was when they were in the courtroom? It was just after she'd said a prayer.

I remember thinking that it was a bit shoe-horned into the dialogue, but can't for the life of me think what it was now.

Edie McCredie! From Balamory!
And a mention of the Tracey being "on the naughty step for fifteen years" almost directly after.

Edie McCredie! From Balamory! That was amazing! And such a specific reference too. I'd love it if Tracy actually was up in Balamory with Edie McCredie - can you imagine the spin off?

Maybe it's more childhood flashback than actual pop-culture reference, but Steve reading "Not Now, Bernard" to Amy was ace.

Balamory is revealed to be a trippy village-prison a la "The Prisoner"! It could feature Lost-style flashbacks to reveal what all the characters did to end up there, why Penny Pocket is in a wheelchair, etc.
