I can't find any confirmation of why she seems to be out, or what she might have said.
Why take her out 3.30 in the morning?

I just had a BBC update emailed through to me confirming that: Big Brother contestant Emily Parr has been removed from house after using a racially offensive word, Channel 4 says. Be interesting to see if we actually find out what she said or whether it will all now be kept very quiet - I'll laugh if she doesn't even get on BBLB!

Where did you find this out? please tell It's on Sky News by the way Stuff G8 I want to know about Emily OMG I just found out! While dancing with Charley and Nicky last night she said to Charley 'Are you pushing it out n***er'. Apparently this was at about 8.30pm, not sure why it took until 3.30am for them to decide it was racist.

Where did you find this out? please tell Realise im a bit fashionbly late now, but it was on the live feed. Does this mean we'll get a new man? Meawhile over at Digital spy.. they have the transcript.. "Emily: (referring to Charley dancing/pushing her hips forward) You pushing it out you nigger. Nicky: (shocked laughter) Em, I can't believe you said that. Charley: You are in trouble. Emily: Don't make a big thing out of it then. I was joking. Charley: I know you were... but that's some serious shit, sorry. Emily: Why? Charley: Oh my god. I'm not even saying it. Nicky: Just don't talk about it anymore. Emily: I was joking Charley: Do you know how many viewers would watch that? Nicky: Okay, don't make a big deal out of it. Charley: Fancy you saying that. I can't believe you said that. Emily: Somebody has already used that word in this house. Charley: No way. (Pause) Yeah, me. I'm a nigger.
Nicky laughs.
Charley: I am one. Fancy you saying it. I know maybe you see it in a rap song. Maybe you and your friends sit there saying it. Emily: I'm friendly with plenty of black people. Nicky: And you call them niggers? Emily: Yeah and they call me niggers. They call me wiggers as well. Nicky: I'm quite shocked. Charley: I'm fucking in shock. Emily: It's not a big deal though is it? Charley: Not for us it ain't. Fuck me." Ooh.

Well, shit the bed! This is all kinds of unbelievable. Was she not on Earth around late January?!
That said, I can't quite figure out exactly what context the bizarre sentence "are you pushing it out" might have been used in, let alone the N-word...

To be fair, it just sounds like she was being a twat, rather than a racist. And a very stupid, non - savvy twat at that
But there is one very important question here.... what happens to the lowculture sweepstake? (think of the children! etc etc)

Words fail me sometimes, they really do.
Advice to Emily: stick with that new indie music and you'll probably cause less trouble for yourself. Silly mare.

It doesn't surprise me one bit. Not the racist slur, but just how stupid she is (or is she?).
After 900 years of Big Brother it's as if she's never seen the show. A few days in and she's discussing nominations willy nilly and now using the 'n' word. Either she's really really dim (despite 10 out of 10 for intelligence) or she's done it to draw attention to herself and has played a much more clever game than Shabnam.
I'm glad she's gone. She wasn't entertaining, just annoying really.

This is hilarious! I think they needed to kick her out, just to try and please people after they sat back and watched the whole Jade and co debacle. Apparently Charleys feeling upset Emilys gone, as if it is her fault but no matter if people think she didnt mean it or it was clearly in jest or whatever, she needed to be kicked out to try and show people Big Brother is sorry for the whole January racist fest.
I personally couldn't stand her so I find it hilarious she's gone and plus it makes interesting for tomorrow - what are they going to do now?!

Remember in Skins, when they went to that posh party and all the posh kids were dancing to rap/hip-hop music.
This is eerily reminiscent....

If the papers are owt to go by they're putting in an 18 year old bitchy gay boy, who at first glance of his pic I thought was Alex Parks! he has a funny name that's kind of a name but not.

Thing is, 18 year old gay boys (and some older) may say they're bitchy, but get them away from their fat hag best friend, uglier less flamboyant mate who secretly loves them or the dumb girls who think they're the most amazing person ever (because they are a boy they can talk to about stuff OMG!eleventyone!) and they're just kids being nasty to hide the confusion and sadness of youth.
Remember Craig. Promised to be bitchy and opinionated, became the obsessive stalker of a arsefaced retard and the familiar to prejudiced bastards who quite openly hated him.
Do we need to see that again, on a slightly more teenage melodrmatic level?

So what exactly was she booted out for? Using a word that Charley had already admitted to using and in exactly the same context. Fuck me, I knew censorship this year would be tight but that's absolutely fucking ridiculous. If she's used it in a pejorative sense I might understand but she didn't, and in no way could she be construed to have done so.
In an unrelated story, what's the betting that if Charley called someone 'white trash', absolutely no action would be taken?
I'm not being racist but I think there are both parallels and lines of common sense that should be drawn.

It is NOT ridiculous that she was removed for using that word. Absolutely. Emily, for all the comments she made about her housemates being badly educated, came across as totally uneducated. You can't use words like that! Especially not on television in a house rigged with cameras. It's insane and Emily's inane. She never contributed anything other than a slight attack on Charley's name dropping which she backed down from when confronted. Please, no more 'bitchy gay guys' because let's face it, they never live up to their promise and end up being the bitch of Charley/Makosi/Aisleyne or whoever a dominant female is. Remember Craig. Promised to be bitchy and opinionated, became the obsessive stalker of a arsefaced retard and the familiar to prejudiced bastards who quite openly hated him. Quoted for truth! I've never been so angry in my life at Big Brother for allowing someone like Craig into the house. I'm positive he set back the gay rights movement by one thousand years.

Contextually speaking though (As she was), the word she used was inappropriate at best but by no means out and out offensive. She used a word becuase she thought she could, parroting Charley's use of it in a similar situation. This is at its very worst simple minded ignorance, a young girl following by an example set by another. She should have been taken aside and asked not to use it again, not become a victim of the one sided hyper-sensitivity in this country that somewhat unjustly ruined Jo O'Meara and Jade Goody.

El Cap, I don't think simple ignorance is much of a defense. In fact, hasn't she already inexplicably said that people call her, and her sisters, the 'Hilton sisters of Bristol.' And Paris is alleged to have used the N word once... now it all makes sense!

Lol. I can see your point. I completely condone vilification of her if she'd have used that word in a nasty manner but its the fact that she didn't that grates on me. Surely the producers realise that there were plenty of other things Emily could have said about Charley (Workshy, vapid, self obsessed twat, for example.) without her having to resort to mindless racism to get at her.

I think she was trying to show how cool she is, by re-claiming the word as youth culture.

How on earth can a white person use that word in a manner that is anything but offensive? In the year of the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the African slave trade in the UK, it is abysmal that the sheer ignorance of people can be used as an excuse for racial slurs.
There is no justification for this under any circumstance.

Whatever the "PC gone mad" brigade may argue about their right to free speech, why anyone would want to use this particular term in any sort of conversation is something that I cannot fathom. She's just a thick cow who thinks she can use words without no knowledge of the context or history of it, just because she once heard 'Hard Knock Life' on the radio. Was she being racist? Probably not. Was the term she used 'racially offensive'? Without a doubt.

I agree with your point but after the whole CBB thing, theres no way the public would have let it slide. It would have got out somehow that it ahd been said, even though it wasnt broadcast on the feed etc and it would have been investigated so they had to throw her out now and avoid all that. She's a fool for not realising you shouldn't even think these words in your head while you're in this place, being filmed 24 hrs a day. Ridiculous I can't find any confirmation of why she seems to be out, or what she might have said. Why take her out 3.30 in the morning? Maybe they thought no one was watching and they could do it all without that much of a fuss. Probably on the phone to their lawyers and what not between the time it was said and the decision to boot her being made (says my boss, who is a solicitor!)

I'm going to reserve full judgement until I see the (edited) show tonight, but there's a certain inequality to Charley being allowed to use the word and not Emily. If, as Coxy1979 has quite justly pointed out, it's the word more than the context or the person saying it that would cause offence then surely she should be just as culpable for using it in the house. I'm not trying to shift blame onto Charley, I just think its either a rule for all or for none. Judgements on how racist a word is surely can't be made on the variable basis of the ethnicity of the person who used it.
Sorry for banging on, I'm just trying to justify my reason for being a little perturbed by all this.
