Err hi guys. I shoudl have joined this site about two years ago as RAD has been going on about it for ages. Hi!
I'm a big fan of the soaps (especially hilariously bad acting in certain ones), Sci-Fi, Pop music (love kylie and a fully paid member of team minogue), trashy reality shows and any bad crime drama on ITV3

I'm going to get all my real-world friends infiltrating this place soon.... although two in two years isn't a great strike rate...
Anyway, hello mister. Next time I go to that London it will now be properly lowcultural.

Hullo all!
Just stumbled on this site not long ago, wandered into the Britain's Got Talent thread and was overcome by the wondrous cynicism. Hope to stick around, the boards seem pretty amusing. Hmmm, will have to learn to do without smilies, it doesn't like me using them. Shame, I've forgotten how to actually express emotion without the use of little yellow faces!

I've just read that our newest member is called Bunkle. I hope (s)he's not just here to follow me round and debunk every random fact or opinion I type.

Hello peoples! I'm Caroline from the fair city of Edinburgh (soon to be moving to Glasgow though). I found this site completely by chance last week and have been absolutely addicted since! I particularly love the Hollyoaks forum, it has made me both guffaw and snort with laughter at various times (sometimes at the same time). You will probably find me mostly on that forum, the Dr Who forum and the adverts forum.
I am a student studying English Lit in Glasgow and I am currently on holiday (hooray!). As a result of these two factors I will probably be found fairly regularly on these here boards.
Random fact: I have lost the use of the letter between 'p' and 'r' on my keyboard which may result in some interesting spelling, eg kwite, kwick and how kweer. Please bear with me.

Halp! Is anyone elsehaving difficulty seeing my avatar? Unless your avatar is intended to be a little blue square with a question mark on it, then yes... And hello!

Welcome Caroline! Try uploading it to photobucket or similar - and it has to be 100X100 pixels or smaller.

Hi Lowculture!
I thought I’d attempt to do things properly by introducing myself in the appropriate thread before posting elsewhere.
After a year of so of occasionally lurking here, I thought it was probably about time I tried my hand at posting on Lowculture. As someone who both appreciates good grammar/spelling and watches Hollyoaks on a regular basis, I feel it might be the forum for me. Other TV I may be inclined to post about includes Doctor Who and Heroes (which you probably figured out from the avatar), Home and Away, the Apprentice, Mad Men and Dexter. My favourite TV shows-in-the-world-ever would also include Buffy, Veronica Mars, Tenko, Gilmore Girls and Takin’ Over the Asylum.
Despite all this TV-watching, I also find time occasionally to listen to the radio, read the odd book, go to the theatre and get wound up by the Evening Standard/Daily Mail.
This is my first time posting on any internet forum, so please forgive any rookie mistakes!

Hi Joan Smith! Welcome, and please don't go back to lurking!
Are you named after Jessica Hynes' character in Who after she married John Smith?

Thanks Rad!
I am indeed named after Jessica Hynes' Doctor Who character... and, yes, there may possibly be a tiny little bit of wish-fulfilment going on there.

Hello everyone!
I feel like I've come home - at last, a place where I can unashamedly disect the finer details of Hollyoaks and where I won't be judged too harshly for confessing to a highly inappropriate crush on Sid from Skins.

Hi Kate - welcome from a fellow new (ish) devotee of these wonderful forums. Even though I don't watch Big Brother or Hollyoaks I love it here. How will you cope when the new series of Skins airs sans Sid?

Thanks! And I don't know how I'll cope *sob*. For now, I'm making do with Nathan from One Tree Hill but there's a distinct lack of slightly nervous boys in glasses on the telly at the moment.

There are plenty of nervous boys with glasses here... unfortunately I don't think many of them are straight...
Welcome (or Wilkommen, seeing as I am on holiday in Berlin at the mo)

Welcome (or Wilkommen, seeing as I am on holiday in Berlin at the mo) I have visions of you at the Kit Kat Club now, Rad, being decadent.... By coincidence I've just come home from the pub to catch the second half of Cabaret on BBC1: Rad, I hope you are enjoying some super supper clubs and taking advantage of this golden opportunity to confirm that 'Exterminieren!' is, in fact, an accurate translation. anniedouglas - welcome & I love the name! I think my favourite Annie moment would be when she knocked out Olivia with a blow dart, delivered her baby and then gave it to Catlin to raise as her own. (No-one except Annie having noticed that Caitlin's baby bump had been a cushion for the previous six months). Ah, good times.

Berlin - how rude! If you see Chris Corner, give him a lick from me. I also loved how no one noticed that the nurse at the hospital was really Annie wearing false teeth and glasses (or that Caitlin & Smeg had briefly turned into someone else - now there was a show with good character nicknames. I still refer to Kieron off Hollyoaks as Father Fit)
