Will you still get to vote in the US elections, Mark? That's probably more fun, in all fairness.

That's not fair, the dirty poles are allowed to vote.
marknyc, you need to find an apathetic friend and ask them for their polling card and then you could vote.

Mark, do you not get a vote as a US citizen under some kind of Commonwealth rule? I was shocked when the I saw just how many countries were on the list?

The US isn't in the Commonwealth is it, because it declared its independence like you Fenian bastards.

I just cycled to the local primary and voted. I had no ID, and have no idea where my polling card is. They just asked my name and address. I feel proud for bothering.

I have just spent three hours in the rain campaigning. I may die of pneumonia.

Ken, obviously. One man shouted abuse at me from his white van, and one shouted at me because he hadn't got his polling card.

It would have been quite a nice surprise had someone spotted my name on the register and let me know so that I could dodge what I presume would have been quite dangerous traffic in order to vote for Ken and the gay. Had this happened I would not have asked any questions as to 'how' or 'why' but would have just been happy that it had.
Steve, I can still vote in the US by absentee ballot. Which is something I will try not to forget getting hold of.

Voted.
The guy in the polling station was very cute.
If that doesn't get people to vote, nothing will.

I had no ID, and have no idea where my polling card is. They just asked my name and address. My colleague didn't have her polling card, they just asked her name and then told her her address. I find that baffling. Even in deepest rural Ireland - where everyone knows your business right down to the last time you farted - they'll still ask for ID.

Harriet Harman has just said she doesn't expect the results in London to be any different to the rest of the country.
WAIL.

I admit it doesn't look good, but since she said that before they even started counting the London votes, I'm not admitting defeat just yet.

Me and my colleague Henry are currently debating who has the best MP. I have controversial homogayer bisexualist Simon Hughes, while Henry has Shakespearean grand dame Glenda Jackson. Purely in name terms, a Glenda beats a Simon hands down.
In fact, I think she pwns Hughes full stop.
Who's your celebrity MP?

Yes indeed, go Boris. Go as far away from London as possible... Not as far as Scotland though. Please. We've got problems enough as it is.

The BBC news said things were looking very good for Boris, then showed footage of Ken Livingston standing at a bus stop. I really hope they're wrong.
The Tory win doesn't surprise me one bit, however, as I've said before, living through the 80s I don't think I could ever bring myself to vote for them. Mind you, I also lived through the 70s with power cuts, sugar rationing, milk rationing , 3 day weeks, 'Tweed' perfume and goodness knows what else.
Emigration seems to be the only sensible choice. Are there enough of us to buy an island?

My physics teacher once bought an island for £300, but it is uninhabitable for at least 200 years due to radioactivity. He was later arrested and sacked for touching up a boy in the early 90s, so I don't know how true that is, but if anyone has any spare radiation suits lying about then we could go for it.

Is it one of those islands that France tested its nukes on?

if anyone has any spare radiation suits lying about then we could go for it. Well they did say jump suits were going to be big, fashion wise, this season, so it wouldn't be too much of a sacrifice to add a helmet.

When is the next general election at the latest? The last one was 2005 I think, so May 2010 at the latest?
