I read somewhere yesterday that despite losing Ken got more votes in this election than he did when he first ran and won. I doubt many people voted for Boris for comedy reason when he ran a well thought out and 'gaffe' free campaign. It seems to me that while Boris was helped by strong anti Labour feeling Ken did quite well in increasing his support in spite of it.
Hopefully this gives Labour the required kick up the arse to put its house in order and stop us from having a Tory governemnt.

He got more votes than both the previous elections, but that doesn't really mean anything because the turnout was much higher, it's all relevant. Also the first time he won he was independent so their was a different Labour candidate as well.
I wouldn't even be that bothered if the Tories got in. The Conservatives of today aren't the same party that were under Thatcher. Today there is hardly any difference between them and Labour. It's not like if they got in they'd repeal all the gay rights legislation that's been introduced or suddenly slash NHS funding.

I think people are underestimating the Tories because David Cameron puts on his act and it makes the whole thing look a lot softer. They're bastards. Genuine bastards, and it would be terrible. Especially for a country that will by then probably be in the throes of a major recession. Not that New Labour aren't terrible at the moment but I don't think it's right to say that the Tories wouldn't be any worse, in my opinion they'd be hella worse.
Are you seriously allowed to drink on the underground?? Jeez, you're not allowed a frappuchino on the buses here, I dread to think if they let people openly bring beer on. And is it free for teenagers to get the bus in London? Christ. I suppose I shouldn't complain cause the bus company in Edinburgh is probably actually one of the best in the whole country. And it's no coincidence that it's one of those rare publicly owned ones.

A heated debate!
I detest the Tories but I have to say that Labour have just BECOME the tories in so many ways that a parlimentary defeat would be welcome, they would hopefully return to what they are supposed to stand for.
But having said that- David Cameron as PM??? A nightmare vision if ever there was one.

But having said that- David Cameron as PM??? A nightmare vision if ever there was one. Agreed. I know he's meant to be the 'softer' side of the party, but frankly I preferred it when they were all upfront about being hateful bastards. I don't trust him, and his attempts at being 'down wit da kidz' are the most cringemaking thing since Totally Scott-Lee. Not that Labour are particularly better these days.

Just seen this on another forum. www.lolboris.com/They have a long way to go before it's up to lolyoaks standards. One of the headlines in the Metro (I think; it was on the floor so I wasn't really looking closely this morning) was DEFEATED KEN IS DEFIANT, which would make a brilliant macro if you found the right picture for it to go with.
