Gattaca I am reliably informed by my cool friends that this is one of the crappest films ever produced. But I love it. Whats not to love? Ethan Hawke - Yes Please. Jude Law (pre hair loss and bad publicity) - C'mon! Uma Thurman - Godess! Three utterly edible stars in futuristic sci-fi detective/who-done-it/love story. And Gore Vidals in it! Its the Gayest Sci-fi of the 90's. If this is wrong, I dont want to be right. Any film which has Jude Law killing himself in a shower-cum-furnace deserves recognition. Which bit turns you on the most? Jude Law in a shower-cum-furnace or Jude Law killing himself?

Yesterday was a freezing and miserable, then I watched the Parent Trap for the first time ever! It was fantastic! That Lindsay Lohan girl is going places, let me tell you!

I love the Robin Williams movie Toys even though it's supposedly awful. From the Wendy Melvoin song at the start to Joan Cusacks mechanical sister and LL Cool J hamming it up.
I love it !

Mrs. Winterbourne was on the other week, with Ricki Lake and Shirley MacLaine - it was so bad that it was fantastic!

Speaking of Ricki Lake films, I have to put forward Serial Mom. It's so completely abysmal, yet provides me with one of my all-time favourite movie quotes in the shape of "fuck you, pussyface!"
I also adore Starship Troopers and Return To Oz, plus I preferred Grease 2 to Grease growing up. In hindsight, I think that was mainly because I saw Grease 2 first. And perhaps a wee smidge "Cool Rider".

I can heartily recommend the Films 24 channel to crap film fans (it's between TCM and Film 4 on cable). It's great - like an edgier version of the Hallmark Channel. It just shows TV movies, usually featuring Tori Spelling and OJ Simpson. It even patronisingly puts a little label in the corner of the screen to tell you what genre the film is. Every night at around 9 or 10 they show an "erotic" drama, which is of course in no way erotic at all, but just amazing in all kinds of terrible ways. No matter when the film was made, it always looks like the late 1980s.

I'd be in therapy if that had happened.

You joke about that but it happened to a friend of mine. He's planned to never tell anyone but he was drunk and it's illegal to lie during I Have Never so now everyone knows.

Ha, poor boy. Although we did have twins at school, one of whom found their mum fingering her, er, second downstairs hole. I always presumed it was rumour but we bumped into her last summer and she confirmed it. (I don't normally ask such filthy questions but I wasn't particularly sober and everyone wanted to know.)
I fucking hate I Have Never.

I fucking hate I Have Never. How can you?! It's the single best drinking game out there. Mixing gossip with alcohol - what could be better? Plus if you're feeling mean you can pick on people you know with secrets with really specific ones ("I have never had sex with a ginger goth in a London port-a-loo" always gets one of my friends) although this has backfired on me when I'm with a lot of straight people who think pick-on-the-gay is a fair way of playing.

You see I get the opposite. My friends forget I have a sex life (so do I half the time mind) and are amazed when I admit to anything.

On Moonlight Bay was on Film4 the other day and was just brilliant - I found myself laughing at how unbelievably naff it all was, but in a very sweet way.

Zone Horror is the best, I watched one a few weeks ago - Humanoids from the Deep starring Emma Samms from Dynasty playing a scientist battling against dodgy looking mutants from the sea!

I was waching Trick the other day - The story of two boys looking for somewhere to shag.
The film is of course stolen by Tori Spelling and her singing 'Enter You', subtle song title too.
And I learnt 'Come te gusta mi pinga?' has nothing to do with Pingu's sister!

Steel Magonolias. It's bloody cornfed American crap, with OTT performances from everyone, but I find it eminently quotable. Other reasons include - Julia Roberts, who wrecks her bad hair by having a fit - Shirley McLaine bickering with everyone - "Mah cake is a giant arm-a-dill-ah" - "Drink your juice Shelby, drink your juice" - Sally Field shrieking "I wanna know why, why, " at the funeral at the end. Despite it being a weepy I put it on to cheer myself up. Is that wrong?

I don't have lesbian ANYTHING!" Trick is such a sweet film, it knows exactly what it wants to be and does it with flying colours. I saw Another Gay Movie recently and it boasted a DVD extra of the "infamous" Mink Stole toilet scene, which seemed to be a total rip off of Miss Coco Peru's infamous toilet scene. When drunk I've been known to do Miss Coco Peru's toilet speech word for word. And does anyone else think Trick would make a fantastic musical?

If anyone's off this afternoon there a channel Five movie on, I think looks quite 'promising'.
'THESE OLD BROADS' starring Elizabeth Taylor, Shirley MacLaine, Debbie Reynolds and Joan Collins as former starlets who reunite for the reissue of their biggest hit movie.
It looks truly awful.

'THESE OLD BROADS' It looks truly amazing, so am gutted that I missed it. Was it any good? It was actually! I could have been so much better as it was co-written by Carrie Fisher but there were some great lines in it. TV exec talking about the Joan Collins character: 'I still have the Playboy Centerfold Abby did a few years ago!' Debbie Reynolds: 'Oh, I'm sure she'd love to talk to you about her spread!' And Debbie Reynolds on finding Joan seducing her husband after Joan's gangster bf has died in bed: 'You've had your eye on my Bill ever since you killed your boyfriend with your lethal genitals!' There was a great scene in a gay club too but again it could have been a lot sharper. Liz Taylor seemed to be being operated by Jim Henson though. She was either on a bed or walking without seeing her feet actually move. Oh and obviously this was made before Debbie Reynolds went off to solve the foot and mouth crisis in Surrey!

In my skiving school days I think I saw a GMTV featurette on that film. The basically spent 20 minutes stating and restating the fact that Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher were so over Liz Taylor ruining their lives and that they were all best mates now.

Slightly late to the party, but I just wanted to join in the Trick love. It's so sweet, and anything with Tori Spelling in it gets my vote, which is why I can't wait to see this: www.imdb.com/title/tt0893346/Tori Spelling AND Amber Benson? It's my cinematic wet dream.
